Sohrab will play solo for the first time tomorrow night. He blends melancholic melodies with those of his native Iran. His music fueled by improvisation, with an ambient and psychedelic take on World music. He’s going to play on tenor sax and soprano sax songs from his CD SoSaLa “Nu World Trash.”
His voice will express all the things that his saxophones can’t express.
He won’t let the audience eat or drink, because they will be a part of the concert. Sohrab’s going to create the space and ambiance for people to participate in the concert. They will love or hate him. Nu World Trash means to be active and activate other people as well. He wants to tell musical stories people haven’t heard before. Make them imagine things they haven’t dreamt of.
