The New York-based, Swiss-born Iranian American saxophonist Sohrab Saadat Ladjevardi—who goes by the moniker SoSaLa—has been hard at work recording his new follow-up to his 2011 release, Nu World Trash (2011).

The upcoming album, 2026 – American Dream Trash,  is coming together with several distinct details.

1. The Sound: It will feature SoSaLa’s signature blend of free jazz, noise, electronics, and No-Wave rock, with spontaneous, improvised lyrics and spoken word.

2. The Tracklist: Sohrab has recorded 15 tracks for the new record. 9 tracks will be picked for the album in mid-July.

3. The Collaborators: The recordings feature contributions from several artists, including multi-instrumentalist and co-composer Mark C (Live Skull), drummers and percussionists Ronnie Burrage (Wayne Shorter, Joe Zawinul) and Andy Weintraub, percussionist and visual artist Issa Sow (Senegal), electronic trumpet and flugelhorn player Volker Goetze (FlamenKora), and spoken word by David Belmont and Ed Haas.

4. Release & Grammys: The album has been in the works for nearly two years, and SoSaLa plans to release it in July/August and submit it for Grammy consideration in mid August this year.
