SoSaLa (mini unit) live @ A.I.R. Gallery (NY), November 3rd, 2011

Last Thursday, November 3 at A.I.R. Gallery Sohrab, on tenor sax and vocals, and Sinan Gündoğdu on oud at the opening of Barbara Siegel’s exhibition entitled Arboretum, featuring wall installations and sculpture made between 2009 and 2011. (The exhibition will be on view from November 2 to November 26, 2011.). They plaued three songs from SoSaLa’s new CD: Sad Sake, Nu Persian Flamenco and  Ja-Jou-Ka, and the  encore was an improvised tune.

A video of Augusta Palmer inspired by Barbara Siegel‘s work was also installed as part of this show. Sohrab did the soundtrack “Sad Sake” for it.

The mini live show went smooth and the audience seemed to have a good time. For Sohrab and Sinan, who represented SoSaLa as a duo unit, this concert was challenging because this was the first time they played as a duo.
