SoSaLa Loses Another Supporter and Friend: Prof. Behrooz Moazami

A dear SoSaLa fan and supporter, Prof. Behrooz Moazami (a professor emeritus of history at Loyola University New Orleans (Loyola) and the founder and director of Loyola’s Middle East peace studies program), passed away yesterday.
“He was one of the rare Iranians in the US whom I could talk to and share ideas with.
After the Green Movement, around 2010, he invited me to play and speak about musicians’ rights at his university.
He always expressed his love for my music, and he hoped that the time would come when I would perform in my first home country, Iran, and start my musicians’ rights organization, Musicians For Musicians, Inc – MFM, there.
My condolences to his family and wife, Jila. Rest in peace, my friend.” – SoSaLa
Politically, he was a social democrat who strongly believed in social-political organizing.
Iran lost a great human being.
