WKCR 89.9 FM  “Jazz Alternatives” Interview

This Thursday, on September 4th, from 7 pm to 8 pm, SoSaLa and Roger Blanc (musician and MFM Board member) are invited by WKCR 89.9 FM  “Jazz Alternatives” host Sharif Abdus Salaam to a live interview to speak about the MFM 10th Anniversary event at the CUTTING ROOM on Friday, September 5th.  
SoSaLa, the producer of this event, and Roger Blanc, the music director, will discuss the MFM history, mission, and the musicians performing, including SoSaLa and Grammy Award winners Arturo O’Farrill and Joe Lovano. Sharif is going to play tracks by SoSaLa, Arturo O’Farrill, and Joe Lovano.

Musicians For Musicians Founder Sohrab Saadat Ladjevardi is the personification of the activist-musician. He’s got the high-energy, super creative foreign import that keeps New York City’s melting pot, eternally percolating. 

Born to Iranian parents in Switzerland, Sohrab came to New York in 2008, after living 20+ years in Japan. While there, he honed his unique style on the saxophone and became a 6th–dan master of the samurai sword art of Kendo.
