Sohrab Performing W. THE MFM UNITY ENSEMBLE IN HARLEM

Salam,

As you know besides being a professional music, I’m also a MUSICIANS RIGHTS advocate. I’ve been running the non-profit musicians advocacy organization MFM since 2015.

This coming Friday I have the great opportunity to speak “musically” about MFM’s mission #MakingMusicIsAProfession, #UnityInTheMusicCommunity and #MusicAintFree) in Central Harlem as part of the all-day event MAKE MUSIC NY 2019.

In fact, it’s not me alone performing on tenor sax but with my MFM fellow Board members, such as legendary jazz man Billy Harper (sax), Vice President and SoSaLa member David Belmont (dobro) and Roger Blanc (electric guitar). MFM member Baba Donn Eaton (the music director of the legendary LAST POETS) will join us on congas.
The name of the group is THE MFM UNITY ENSEMBLE…45 minutes of jazz-blues-oriental-improvised music with a clear message!

Here is a detailed info about the show: https://musiciansformusicians.org/event/the-mfm-unity-ensemble-live-in-harlem/

So whoever is in NY this Friday please come see me playing with four other cool musicians and chat after the show.

Cheers,
Sohrab
